The UNC Asheville Delaney Hall (formerly Carmichael Hall) project consisted of 27,663 sf of heavy renovations of an existing 1966 building. The programming of the building remained Management and Accountancy and Psychology. Vannoy was selected as Construction Manager at Risk and preconstruction efforts consisted of extensive research into the requirements of the building to be reinvigorated and better connect with the campus. Based on a limited budget from the University, Vannoy and the design team worked to help the client budget and prioritize the project scope, helping to categorize items between needs, wants, and “wish list” with assigned dollar values and time frames.
